During her more than 30 years as a family practitioner with specialties in treating mental health challenges and  Women's health, Deborah has honed her skills in the treatment of patients of all ages and gender identities with the many conditions helped by Eastern  medicine. Among these: musculoskeletal pain, neurological disorders, chronic and low energy, headaches, and other common complaints. Deborah has also developed a specialty in women’s health, offering wellness care and support for health challenges from menarche to menopause. Acupuncture is used to address hormonal imbalances and challenges related to the menstrual cycle and fertility, as well as pregnancy and postpartum care. She also specializes in treating mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders.

Deborah Houseworth completed her premedical studies, graduating magna cum laude from Bryn Mawr College, with a major in Religion. Studying world religions and philosophies in college led to an exploration of different healing modalities around the world. She knew, the moment she stepped into the office of a Chinese herbalist in Chicago's Chinatown, that this was where her career was headed. As she and her family experienced the power of healing with acupuncture and herbs, she felt inspired to apply to graduate school to study Eastern medicine. She graduated in 1994 with a Masters in Acupuncture from the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NAIOM) in Seattle, obtaining her license to pratice Eastern medicine in Washington that same year.   Desiring to hone her skills as an herbalist, she completed specialized training, obtaining a certificate in herbal studies at NAIOM in Seattle in 2000.   Deborah Houseworth has completed hundreds of hours in continuing education focussing on women's health. She completed a certificate program in the treatment of infertility at the Jade Institute in Seattle in 2008.   To further assist her in providing holistic health to her patients, Deborah Houseworth became certifed as a counselor in Seattle in 2010. She is activley engaged in furthering her knowledge through ongoing study and attending seminars and conferences. 

Having faced significant health challenges in her twenties that compromised her ability to conceive, Deborah knows, personally, the trials of infertility. She would not have conceived her son without the assistance of Eastern medicine. This fuels her passion for the practice of this specialty, so that she can help others on the path of creating a family, wherever that journey may lead.
